Leo Severino
Hollywood Producer, Writer, Actor
Leo Severino's journey to filmmaking began in law. A graduate with honors from USC Law School, he worked at one of the world's largest law firms in London and Los Angeles before transitioning into media as Director of Business Affairs at FOX Networks Group, overseeing national programming.
A providential meeting after daily Mass with actor Eduardo Verástegui led Leo to co-found Metanoia Films with Verástegui and director Alejandro Monteverde. In 2006, he produced their first film, Bella, which won the People's Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Leo went on to produce Little Boy and the global hit Sound of Freedom, which grossed $251 million worldwide on a $14.5 million budget. He later produced Cabrini, widely praised as one of the most beautifully crafted films ever made about a saint.
A rarity in Hollywood, Leo's deep Catholic faith shapes his work in filmmaking. His latest movie, the epic Zero A.D., focuses on the birth of Jesus and Herod's efforts to kill the Christ-child. The all-star cast includes Jim Caviezel, Sam Worthington, Ben Mendelsohn, and Deva Cassel.
Leo is the author of Going Deeper, which presents the common reader with a compelling argument for the existence of God through the use of reason.
