THE HISTORY OF
MATER MEDIA
Mater Media was founded by famed sportscaster and storyteller, Zip Rzeppa, who had left the bright lights of TV to embark on a journey of faith. After spending several years doing door-to-door evangelization in inner-city St. Louis, and assisting poor and disabled individuals through his leadership with the St. Vincent De Paul Society and MERS Goodwill, Zip pivoted to use his gifts to tell new kinds of stories. There was an urgent need to bring light into the deeper spiritual darkness of American culture.
In 2012, Zip established and consecrated Mater Media, to the Mother of Media, the Blessed Virgin Mary, with a vision “to write, print, publish, and distribute unique books that evangelize the Catholic Faith.” To date, Mater Media has published 20 Catholic books, with 126,000 copies in print,
Mater Media expanded its mission in 2014: “To Make Jesus Christ More Known and More Loved by More People—Through Media.” This faith-focused nonprofit now reached beyond book publishing to inspire and evangelize through a broad array of media formats and methods -- including missions, speeches and live presentations.

Since that time, Mater Media has worked with Hollywood partners to create, develop, fund, distribute, and promote numerous MOVIES like Unplanned, Sound of Freedom, Cabrini and more, to uplift and inspire.
Mater Media has sponsored and promoted dozens of CONCERTS from pop to classical, including, Eric Genuis’ CONCERTS FOR HOPE which bring light into the darkness of prisons around the world.
Mater Media has produced scores of CDs and DVDs, and continues to shoot and post VIDEOS on YouTube and other platforms, to promote the Holy Rosary, inform and entertain, and evangelize the Faith.
Mater Media's newest project is THE CELEBRATE CATHOLIC MARRIAGE EXPERIENCE. This powerful multimedia enrichment experience is a uniquely enjoyable parish event that launches couples on a seven-step process to fortify and energize their marriages.
